
Thomas Whittemore (1800-1861)
Born in Boston, Whittemore was brought to Universalism by Hosea Ballou in 1820. Founder and editor of The Trumpet and Universalist Magazine (1828-1861), he had also been successor of Hosea Ballou’s Universalist Magazine (1822-1828).
He served as Cambridge’s representative in the Massachusetts legislature (1831-1836). His papers are in the Andover-Harvard Theological Library at Harvard Divinity School.
