Description
The Greek word charis does not mean “unmerited favor,” a definition imposed by religious tradition rather than supported by Scripture usage. Instead, the core meaning of charis – and its entire word family – is “joy,” “delight,” or that which produces joy.
Charis describes God’s joyful disposition and active delight, not a reluctant favor given to the undeserving. Because we are already righteous in Christ and chosen before the world’s disruption, God’s charis toward us is not “unmerited,” but the natural overflow of our Father’s joy in His own workmanship. 50 pages, paperback.
