Description
Surely the baseline hope of Scripture is resurrection on a restored Earth. This was the “hope of Israel” that Paul taught and was imprisoned for during the Acts period. Yet, God has a much bigger plan than just the restoration of the Earth … He has in His plan the restoration of the Universe. This is at the center of Paul’s later revelation: What God is going to do about the Heavens. This is what he referred to as the “out-resurrection” (Philippians 3:11), and being “pre-expectant in the Christ” (Ephesians 1:12).
While Israel will be the instrument of earthly restoration, we have a “high calling” as instruments of the restoration of the heavens. This was not revealed before the Secret Administration. We have as our expectation, not merely to be “Christ’s at His coming” (i.e., His coming to Earth, I Corinthians 15:23), but an earlier, higher hope, when Christ, Who is our life, is manifested on His throne (Colossians 3:4) at the right hand of God (Ephesians 1:20) in Glory, far above all Heavens (Ephesians 4:10; 1:21, i.e., in the Super-Heavens), that we, too, will be manifested (appearing) with Him there.
